Potato planting getting off to a slow start,prolonged wet/cold weather with April average temperature being 7.9 degrees and rainfall totalling 29mm to date,this combined is delaying progress! Although thanks to the teams patience and skill most maincrop varieties planted to date such as Desiree,Melody and King Edwards have gone into good conditions! With the King Edwards close to emergence.

On a positive note conventional onions are up and ahead of last year and organic onions have emerged and vigorously growing,the farms Sugar Beet crop has also handled the cold conditions well with a good establishment.
Currently the Organic potato crop is being planted,three varieties this year Nicola,Bambino,Corolle supplying Waitrose and M&S. Don’t forget this years Open Farm Sunday June 19th College Farm Duxford
